Duo MFA will have a new look and feel with the Universal Prompt that will make your Duo login experience easier, faster, and more accessible for all web-based applications.

What is the Duo Universal Prompt?

Duo is retiring the older "Traditional" (legacy) prompt, which is currently used. Duo's next-generation authentication experience, the Universal Prompt, is a redesigned visual interface with security and usability enhancements.

Do I need to do anything?

You do not need to do anything during this transition. These updates will be applied automatically to your account at your next login come Jan. 31, 2025.

What can users expect?

While the prompt styles differ in appearance, the Universal Prompt offers the same features as the Traditional Prompt, though organized differently. 

These changes will not affect the options available for completing the Duo MFA process. Users will still see the same options for completing MFA, including Duo Push, SMS, and phone callback.
