Duo Verified Push
Duo Verified Push is a new feature that brings additional resilience against bad actors looking to exploit your SDSU account. These changes are part of our ongoing efforts to enhance security and streamline the authentication process for SDSU users.
What is Duo Verified Push?
Duo Verified Push is a more secure version of Duo Push, the current two-factor authentication system used by SDSU. Instead of approving or denying a push notification, users will enter a three-digit code to verify your login. The three-digit code is right in front of you, making it easy to log in without added hassle.
Benefits
- Enhanced Security: Provides additional security against against cyberattacks such as Duo two-factor authentication push scams, where cyber scammers make repeated Duo phonecalls until the user accepts, unknowingly granting access to their account. This new, additional layer of security also prevents accidentally accepting a login request.
- Fraud Reporting: Provides improved fraud reporting by directing users to a fraud-report option in the Duo Mobile application when they receive unexpected Duo Push login requests.
Do I need to do anything?
You do not need to do anything during this transition. These updates will be applied automatically to your account at your next login come Jan. 31, 2025.
How does Duo Verified Push work?
1. Log-in as normal, with campus credentials.
2. You will be prompted on device you are attempting to log-in on with three numbers.
3. Then you will go to your Duo mobile app to enter the three numbers displayed on your device.
